- Guillaume Restes - Toulouse - 78 OVR/88 POT - £22.1m
- Bart Verbruggen - Brighton - 77 OVR/84 POT - £15.7m
- Jonas Urbig - Koln - 73 OVR/84 POT - £5.1m
- James Trafford - Burnley - 74 OVR/84 POT - £6.8m
- Pascal Loretz - Luzern - 71 OVR/82 POT - £3.1m

- Mike Penders - Genk - 65 OVR/83 POT - £1.4m
- Dennis Seimen - Stuttgart - 63 OVR/84 POT - £1.2m
The youngest starting goalkeeper in Ligue 1, Guillaume Restes is an incredible talent who’s capable of slotting into even top teams and keeping his place for more than a decade. With sky-high potential to match his already strong overall, he’s the natural choice for big budget teams.
Then, with Burnley’s relegation back to the Championship, picking up England U21 hero James Trafford seems less far-fetched. He’s got some good goalkeeping PlayStyles and a relatively accessible price tag.
But if you’re working with a shoestring, check out Genk giant Mike Penders. At 6ft 7”, and with a potential ceiling to match the ones he needs in his house, he’s a very smart pick-up for Road to Glory saves.
Just outside of the Wonderkid category, Lucas Chevalier, Filip Jorgensen and Anatoliy Trubin are all 22 years old, have potential in the mid-80s and a starting overall that makes them already suited to starting in one of Europe's top 5 leagues.
And although he's not a very realistic signing, Brighton stopper Bart Verbruggen also needs mentioning, since he's the youngest starting goalkeeper in the Premier League and technically still a Wonderkid (although he'll turn 22 in August of your save).

Full-back is an interesting position in EA Sports FC 25. Because of the new Player Roles, you can either go for the classic attacking wingback, or ask your player to step inside into midfield to help with build-up.
Arnau Martinez shot up in rating last year thanks to Girona’s amazing 3rd place finish in La Liga, and he’s got a lot going for him: pace, technical ability and a good physical presence that makes him an asset to any team.
Milos Kerkez is a bit of an obvious choice given he is now a regular starter in the Premier League, but he's still worth flagging both for the fact that his stats are brilliant and that Bournemouth often get relegated in the first season and so he can be snapped up for cheap.
But if you want physical presence, definitely look into Tom Rothe. He’s 6ft 4” with both the Aerial and Bruiser PlayStyles, making him a unique option in the left-back spot.
For a more classic wing-back, Fresneda, Lewis Hall, and Kassoum Ouattara are all great.
Obviously, Spurs' £40m Wonderkid Archie Gray also has RB in his listed positions, but it's not his best position by any means.
On the cheaper end, the versatility of Kyriani Sabbe and Martim Fernandes make them easy to give game-time in a variety of positions. Whereas the English youngsters Josh Acheampong and Harry Amass have very accessible price tags and huge potential ratings.
Or if you want to create an ultra-offensive team, you could use David Mella, a really good Wonderkid winger with a lot of pace and LB in his alternate positions!

I didn't include Giorgio Scalvini in my original list because of his sluggish pace and low agility, which can make him feel like a unimpressive signing. However, after playing more of FC 25 Career Mode, you can actually get away with slower CBs these days, particularly if they have a more sprightly partner. But thanks to the Block, Intercept, Anticipate and Bruiser PlayStyles, Scalvini feels like the architypal Italian defender: cerebral and cultured, but uncompromising when they need to rough it.
At the start of the season, Castello Lukeba has gone from strength to strength for a really impressive RB Leipzig team. He can play just about every CB role too, making him a versatile player in a top squad.
Since Lenny Yoro just joined Manchester United, you won’t be able to pick him up permanently quickly, but there are tons of great, and overpowered, alternatives. Sporting Lisbon have a huge stable of incredible young players on their roster, but at just 20, Ousmane Diomande fits the Wonderkid label best. He has incredible pace, strength and tackling ability beyond his years.
Another relatively expensive option for top clubs is Mosquera at Valencia. Pretty much all of his key stats are in the very high 70s, meaning without much training you can suddenly have an incredible all-rounder with a great stat distribution on your hands.
Long-term Liverpool target Jorel Hato is listed as a LB, but fits the CB position perfectly where he can keep up with even the fastest attackers and come away with the ball.
Pau Cubarsi has played in all of Barcelona's league fixtures so far this year and has the highest potential of any teenage defender in EA Sports FC 25 after a recent boost.
Giorgio Scalvini is very highly rated, but very slow, so I don't feel like he justifies the price in a Career Mode save, despite having 88 potential.
At the lower end of the overall spectrum, most of the players I've suggested have a good mix of pace, tackling and strength, but some are more specialised. El Chadaille Bitshiabu for example is slow off the mark but incredibly strong and tall - great in the middle of a back 3. Argentine Wonderkid Tobias Palacio also has very good stats for someone who's just 17.
Also in Argentina, Valentin Gomez fits the mould of shorter, more mobile and aggressive defenders that were popular a few years ago. He's cheap and fits a proactive style well.
For English lower league saves, Charlie Hughes at Hull recently got a big potential buff, as well as a massive boost to speed and strength. This makes him a solid option with 80 potential as a ball-playing defender.
There are actually a ton of amazing CBs who just age out of the Wonderkid bracket, so take a look at our page on the best centre backs in EA Sports FC 25 to snap them up too. Jayden Oosterwolde comes very highly recommended!

There are a huge number of exciting young midfielders with high potential in EA Sports FC 25. Gavi and Warren Zaire-Emery won’t come as a surprise, but there are plenty of players to suit a variety of budgets.
After a recent update, PSG new boy Joao Neves looks unbelievably good, with an incredible engine and the technical stats to match. Tiki Taka, Press Proven and Relentless make him the perfect metronome in the middle, so while he's not available immediately, he's definitely someone to look out for as your save progresses and you reach the top of the world game.
For other teams pushing towards the top, Oscar Gloukh looks like a really solid attacking option with a lot of potential. But to add some steel to your midfield without raising its average age, I really like the look of both Yunus Musah and Pablo Barrios. The American Musah particularly has an amazing physical profile, with enough technical ability to really dominate in a variety of midfield roles.
I missed him on my first pass, but Enzo Millot looks to be an incredibly technically gifted midfielder with great stamina, dribbling and passing.
Career Mode legend Martin Baturina is still at Dinamo Zagreb despite multiple links with a move away. He's even better in FC25 thanks to a host of new PlayStyles which make him play better than his already good rating.
If you’re not as cash-rich though, Kendry Paez from Ecuador now has a proper in-game picture, as well as really high potential. Benjamin Cremaschi, Tygo Land and, of course, Jobe Bellingham, also look like a lot of fun.
Argentina has long provided EA Sports FC with ridiculously overpowered Career Mode players, and 2025 is no exception. The 16 year old Franco Mastantuono is one such attacking midfielder!
Not to be outdone, you also have Premier League academy players to consider. Lucas Bergvall, Alex Scott and Brajan Gruda (the latter particularly) both have excellent starting stats to match their potential.

The winger position holds the highest concentration of certified Wonderkids in EA Sports FC 25, thanks mostly to Nestory Irankunda and Yankuba Minteh, both of whom have Quick Step+ from the start of the game. I’d be looking into taking them on loan with a buy option as soon as possible. Irankunda is very useable, despite his stamina, thanks to surprisingly good strength to match his speed.
In a similar price bracket, Malick Fofana looks great, as does Newerton and Ruben van Bommel (son of legendary hit-man Mark van Bommel). Luca Koleosho has made a great start in the Championship for Burnley, while Roony Bardghji - who scored an incredible volley against Manchester United in the Champion’s League if you remember - is really easy to sign and a great technical dribbler.
If you’re looking to pick up the impressive Jamie Gittens after his performances in the Champion’s League for Dortmund, he’s still listed as “Jamie Bynoe-Gittens” in-game despite his recent change. While you’re in Dortmund though, be sure to check out the similar Julien Duranville if you’re on a smaller budget!
At the very top end though, long-time favourite Alberto Moleiro from Las Palmas has just received a massive stamina upgrade and 4-star skills, making him a very high quality, speedy winger who now slots into a lot of top squads. Then Johan Bakayoko is the archetypal Career Mode signing: with great pace, dribbling and the finesse shot, technical dribbling and quick step PlayStyles, he's the perfect inside forward.
It's also incredible to see the rise of Lamine Yamal, who has already been given two Overall upgrades this season - how high will he be by the end of it?

Striker is a tough position for Wonderkids, particularly since the switch to EA Sports FC and the introduction of PlayStyles. Finishing and shot power are very important and these are two areas that tend to be lacking in young players.
To make matters worse, two of the very best Wonderkids, Youssoufa Moukoko and Vitor Roque are out on loan from their parent clubs and not available to sign in the first season. However, there are still some really nice players you can pick up.
Mathys Tel just keeps getting better and better and is now very useable right from the off at a host of top clubs. It’s not very realistic, but you could frame it as him lacking game-time behind Harry Kane, or a situation like Moise Kean leaving Juventus.
Speaking of Juventus, you could break the Old Lady’s heart by stealing away every Bianconeri’s current favourite player, Kenan Yildiz, for a cheap fee before his overall shoots up across the course of this season - it looks like it’ll be his real breakout year.
But for a good mix of pace, strength and shooting ability, take a look at Mateo Joseph at Leeds United (who’s many fans’ hot tip for Championship top goalscorer) and Jhon Duran, who many people will have seen scoring an absolute banger in the Premier League recently.
After a recent upgrade in a patch, Giuliano Simeone is destined to be a Career Mode legend. While his potential isn't that high, his physical profile is incredible for someone with such an accessible price tag: 85 pace, 81 strength and 87 jumping mean he's got it all when it comes to getting on the end of chances, you just need to train his technicals to get your hands on a very special player! Dynamic potential makes him a must-buy for lower league saves.
It's a similar case with Ivan Azon at Zaragoza, who already had incredible strength and stamina but now has 82 potential after a recent boost which makes him a very solid pick-up.
Santiago Castro, who’s getting minutes in the Champion’s League for Bologna, also looks very good, as do the movement stats on Facundo Farias, while Karim Konate has received a massive buff from his EA FC 24 rating to now have some great all-round stats.
But if it's pure potential you're after, then Semih Kilicsoy and George Ilenikhena can't be ignored - both have a starting potential growth of +16.
